The Guadalupe Police Department consists of twelve sworn officers, six reserve officers, four professional staff and four volunteers. The department ensures that the laws of the City and of the State of California are observed within the City, and the department takes a proactive approach to maintaining the safety of the community for all who come to Guadalupe.

 

The men and women of the Guadalupe Police Department are extremely proud of the work they perform in service to the residents, businesses and visitors of the City. The department is committed to partnering with the community, excellence in rendering police services, and organizational and personal integrity.

 

We are proud of our ability to work with all segments of the community. Problem solving and our open communication policy with the public are key components of our commitment to service. It is our goal to be a professional, responsive and caring organization, making Guadalupe a safe place to live, work and visit.

Department News

Police Explorers of Guadalupe Police Explorer Post No. 5100 recently won top honors at a Law Enforcement Explorer competition held in Paso Robles, Calif., Sept. 25-27, 2009.

The 10th annual Central Coast Law Enforcement Explorer Competition hosted 521law enforcement Explorers’ from 47 various law enforcement agencies throughout California and Nevada.

The competition was extremely demanding; testing the physical capabilities and operational expertise of competing Explorer’s.

Explorer’s competed in a variety of law enforcement related scenarios, including: felony suspect detainment and arrest, vehicle traffic enforcement stops, DUI investigations, vehicle searches, building searches, domestic violence investigations, suspect interview and interrogation, emergency medical aid, patrolling, and a host of other law enforcement related tasks.

Additionally, Explorer’s competed in individual and team physical agility tests.

The Guadalupe Police Explorer’s won in the following categories:

Second Place on the Vehicle Search Scenario and Fifth Place overall on the Crisis Negotiations out of the total 47 competing teams. This is an outstanding achievement in light of an extremely competitive field of Explorer teams, including teams from the Los Angeles Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and several other large California law enforcement agencies.

The competition was the culmination of several months of training conducted with the Explorers by Guadalupe Police Department Cpl. Medina, Cpl. Charmoli, Officer Reyes and Advisor’s Eduardo Estrada, Jens Hansen and Dalton Pittman.
